Posting on social media isn’t good for you, but you’d be the first person screaming “b-but the Fediverse and Linux reeee!” if someone were to call you out on it.

Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy.

Dave Grohl got a lot of shit for playing a private show for Amazon leadership after they had laid off thousands of employees earlier this year.

Now, I guess it kinda makes sense why. It’s not just that he’s morally bankrupt, but he probably needed some extra cash to fund the incoming divorce and raising a new child.

With all that said, I kinda feel for the child. It’s gonna suck to have this scrutiny on your shoulders, and to have weird parts of the Grohl cult of personality hate you for existing. Would it actually be that good having him as your dad when his other kids apparently want nothing to do with him now?

In some European countries, Pepsi actually reduced the sugar amount and replaced with artificial sweeteners.

Genuinely interested in how that is practical in an office setting. We barely have room to keep leftovers, let alone decent bread and cheese. It’s also a bit boring if you’re having it most days.

Meal deals are rarely ever decent. They’re enough to get you through the working day if you sit at a desk all day.

It came up during one of my childcare courses that I took before I became a dad. You can buy colostrum and breast milk on the dark web, and in some inner-city hospitals it’s not uncommon for some women to sell all their breast milk and to give their baby formula for some extra cash. We were told by the midwife that ran the course not to do this…and naturally it resulted in more questions than answers.

Genuinely one of the only things I remember from that course.

Don’t ask me how I know this, but some parts of the bodybuilding community have been known to pay lactating women a surprisingly high amount for their breast milk.

I don’t really get the point of Joe Rogan any more.

As a comedian, he’s okay? He’s probably no better than over a dozen other comics, and his appeal seems to be limited to a certain demographic nowadays.

As a commentator on MMA, many in combat sports doubt his ability to commentate compared to other, more experienced analysts. Some of his takes are outright biased or bizarre, and while he’d undoubtedly kick most people’s ass, he’s apparently not that active in grappling any more due to injuries.

That leaves the podcast…which probably has a lifespan that won’t outlast his other grifts. Once the comedy work dries up, the MAGA love-in is gone, and he stops working for UFC I don’t really see what’s left to prop his name up.

Evangelion is an experience. As others have said, I wouldn’t even bother trying to find the best way to consume it, just watch, and revisit once you get over the initial “wtf was that” feeling.

Sadly, Stevia doesn’t agree with me either, although I don’t feel as ill as if I have drinks with aspartame, which is what most drinks in the UK use.

I recently bought a soda stream for just this, since I now mostly drink sparkling water. There aren’t many cordials here that don’t use a sweetener, and many of my previously favourite kombucha brands now use aspartame - but there’s enough to have some choice.

Then call it out, but maybe not be such a cunt about it. It’s an embarrassment for the fediverse that someone can’t be civil to what is a fair comment, even if it’s not factually accurate. Even on cesspools like Reddit you wouldn’t see this kind of toxicity.

That’s highly debatable. It’s swapping one set of side effects for another, especially when drunk at high volumes.

As someone with an intolerance to artificial sweeteners, I’ll never forgive Jamie Oliver for pushing the sugar tax, alongside his insistence on “improving” school meals that resulted in mass outsourcing of school food to the lowest bidder.

Kids aren’t drinking less soft drinks than before, the drinks themselves have just replaced sugar with chemicals and byproducts that aren’t particularly healthy themselves…
