  • I had a really pleasant drive through Croatia, it didn’t seem too crazy to me. This was more than a few years ago though. Drove from Plitvice Lakes park to Split by way of some rural as fuck road through the woods, eventually getting on some highway, A1 I believe. My expectations may have been altered by the years of driving in Italy.

Going through the tunnel on A1 was a cool experience. One side was green, temperate, and humid, then we cut through a tunnel, the other side was brown, dry, and hot. One minute of driving completely changed the microclimate. This was northeast of Zadar.

Edit: unrelated to driving but my girlfriend and I at the time went driving downstream from Plitvice lakes to find a place to swim. Ended up pulling off the side of the road near a river and walking upstream until we found a spot. We didn’t realize it was behind somebodies house but they came out and let us swim anyways. A super cool experience. We literally wandered into their natural river pool and they didn’t care.

  • My dad had a shitbox Astro too, thing would not die and he wouldn’t get rid of something that still worked. Used to ride around in it on country roads in upstate NY with the side door wide open, stoned to the bone. It felt illegal and dangerous, but cool - literally and figuratively. If you’ve never ridden around in a van with the sliding door open, out in the country, preferably baked out of your gourd, I recommend it.

  • MDMA hangover rates a 4/10 in my experience. Nearly unnoticeable with 5-HTP supplementation and not taking a stupid amount of MDMA, just a bit of a sleepy day after. Hangovers from alcohol can be way more debilitating.

Opiates and especially benzos are significantly worse to come off of. Benzo WDs can kill you and it lasts months after chronic usage. You feel insane, you’re sweating, heart palpitations, and anxiety through the roof. Fuck benzos.

  • That video is one of the best and oldest I can remember, from back when you saved videos to the cool videos folder because YouTube didn’t exist yet. Poor guy in the beginning having a bad trip. The soldier throwing the headphones down like “I can’t fucking do this”, cord stretched across the tree, while absolutely laughing his ass off always gets me. I wonder how many micrograms they were dosed with. Ahh, tripping in the woods.

“He himself then relapsed into laughter”

Isn’t aiming with both eyes open the way to do it? I learned to do that in the military to keep your situational awareness and never stopped. Also, it works really well with a holographic sight, like you’ve got the red dot / reticule floating on the target.

If you look at Olympic pistol shooting pics there’s a bunch with a hand in the pocket too.

  • Save on weight means save on gas. Multiply that by thousands of flights and it adds up. United printed their in flight magazines on lighter paper and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars, just by using thinner paper.

They only eliminated 5kg per 737, but that added up to $290k savings.

If anything I think it’d be even more effective on longer flights as those jets spend more time in cruise vs short haul airliners.

By using lighter paper to print their in-flight magazine, Hemisphere, United Airlines saves up to 170,000 gallons of fuel, which cuts about $290,000 in annual fuel costs.

One magazine is now one 29 g lighter and weights 195 g which will make a usual 737 plane that carries 179 passengers 5 kg lighter on average.
